Emission lines from cosmological simulations
MEGATRON · FIREbox · JWST rest-optical predictions
Building on the SKIRT ionized-gas framework, I am applying the pipeline to cosmological hydrodynamic simulations to predict rest-frame optical emission from post-processed galaxy snapshots. The high-redshift arm uses MEGATRON zoom-in halos for direct comparison with JWST rest-optical spectroscopy at \(z \approx 4\); the low-redshift arm targets FIREbox to characterize diffuse ionized gas in local galaxies. A more self-consistent photoionization solver, coupled to the wavelength-resolved local radiation field, is being developed alongside this application.
