Surface brightness fluctuations with Euclid

Together with Reynier Peletier’s group, I am building a two-band (VIS and NISP) surface brightness fluctuation pipeline for Euclid DR1 to measure distances to nearby dwarf galaxies in the semi-resolved regime. The pipeline anchors its blue calibration to TRGB distances and uses a twin-differential SBF measurement designed to work from the M81 group out to Fornax. The goal is to use SBF as a group-membership filter for building dwarf luminosity functions across the DR1 footprint.
